“The little bottle designed to bring you happiness.”

The design of this bottle was launched in 1961 by Kenji Ekuan (1929–2015) in Japan. With its distinctive red cap, the bottle has been a symbol of Kikkoman’s soy sauce and was sold in more than 100 countries.

Here are some features:

  1. The red cap opening was cut at a reverse angle of 60 degrees (opposite angle like the tip of a teapot)and therefore has been overcome the problem of dripping sauce.
  2. Ease with refilling: when you open the bottle, the opening widens upwards a little from the narrow waist. This makes it easier to pour into when refilling.

I wanted to use soy beans (because soy sauce is made out of soy beans) but I couldn’t find it in my local market, so here I used pepper instead to represent the idea.
