Sound Final Documentation

Concept

Since I don’t have any background in sound, my goal is to collect lots of samples and edit them to make a song.

Process

The samples that I collected are from many different places: my friends, recorded on my own, old movies, clips in social media videos. And I added instruments (instruments)from Ableton kits. Later I used max for live to create a sound responsive visuals for this song.

Documentation

  1. I created my first step sequencer in Max 8, but later I realize Ableton is more suitable for creating my project.

2. I bought a MIDI keyboard for this project. And I experimented with the MIDI in Ableton.

3. Experiment with the session view, played in live and I recorded the music in the arrangement view. I also used the wavetable to add envelop and LFO to adjust the sound.

4. After those experiments above, I think I have some basic editing skills in Ableton. Then I applied these skills into the final piece.

5. Then I use max for live to create the sound responsive visuals and edited those videos in premiere. This is the patch that I used.
